U.S. Trade Gap Narrows – WSJ.com

The U.S. trade deficit narrowed sharply on climbing overseas sales in October, raising private forecasts for fourth-quarter economic growth.

And a separate report Friday showed U.S. consumers are feeling better about the economy as the holidays approach.

The government said the total U.S. deficit in international trade of goods and services fell more than 13% to $38.71 billion. The Commerce Department report also showed the politically sensitive trade deficit with China fell 8.3%.
